New Work for 2025

with Christopher Cerrone

Longtime collaborator, Christopher Cerrone is writing a new electroacoustic work for Hub. The globetrotting piece takes found sounds (specifically the sounds of crosswalks) from the composer’s travels abroad, and embeds them in the score.

What If We’re Beautiful

Works by Daniel Thomas Davis, Yaz Lancaster, Elijah Daniel Smith, Angélica Negrón, and Donnacha Dennehy each offer a different perspective on defining one’s “home.”

A Concerto for Hub & Symphonic Winds by Gala Flagello

Gala Flagello’s The Bird-While is the first concerto written for Hub New Music. Scored for Hub + Symphonic Winds, The Bird-While is inspired by the environmentalist poetry of Keith Taylor.

With Kojiro Umezaki & Asia-America New Music Institute

a distance, intertwined features five new works for Hub and shakuhachi player Kojiro Umezaki. Written by composers of the Asia-America New Music Institute (AANMI), these works create dialogues between Eastern and Western musical traditions.
